Blushing Taiwan: Where to See the ‘Pinkest’ Cherry Blossoms in Taiwan

When people think of seeing cherry blossoms, what immediately comes to mind is either Japan or South Korea. But did you know that the humble, little country of Taiwan also has some stunning cherry blossoms of its own? I dare say that it can even rival Japan’s cherry blossoms.

During my last visit to the country, I was able to witness with glorious awe and joy Taiwan’s sakura season—the dainty flowers were in full bloom and at their pinkest. There are actually a lot of places in Taiwan where you can view cherry blossoms but in this post, I will share with you where you can find the ‘pinkest’ cherry blossoms in Taiwan. Clue: it’s not in Taipei! You have to travel further.

Travel-Guide-Masamerey-Beach-Sual-Pangasinan

Pangasinan is most famous for the Hundred Islands National Park, the golden beach of Bolinao and more recently, the Cabongaoan Death Pool. This province up north is a popular choice for those who want to indulge in a quick weekend getaway or a short vacation, because of its proximity to Manila- just about five to six hours by bus.

If you aim to unravel the secret destinations of Pangasinan, it’s time you visit the coastal town of Sual, a first-class harbor municipality next to Alaminos.

Masamirey Cove Resort: A Sweet Escape to the Coastal Life

Masamirey-Cove-Resort-Pangasinan-Review

Yearning to punctuate the summer with an idyllic retreat, I, together with my boyfriend, set out on a trip to a sleepy town up north during the Independence Day long weekend. It wasn’t an easy journey, considering that it was just a 5-6 hour commute from Manila, but the paradise that we found waiting for us at the farthest end of Pangasinan made it all worth it.

A Hidden Gem In Tagaytay: El Cocinero In La Bella Residences

Just when I thought I’ve had enough of Tagaytay, I’ve stumbled upon this charming restaurant that effortlessly transported me to the best of Europe all at once—Greece, Spain, and Italy.

I’m talking about El Cocinero by Chef Arnaldo, a secluded Spanish restaurant veiled inside La Bella Residences, a real-estate development, which prides itself as a “health and wellness haven,” at Barangay Neogan in Tagaytay City.

I visited the restaurant last summer with my family and we were happily surprised to find this off-the-grid dining destination, away from the chaotic side of Tagaytay. We were so drawn not only with the Mediterranean vibes and feels of the place but also with the food, bursting with authentic Spanish flavors! It’s a fusion like no other—cozy atmosphere plus flavorful food equals a truly good time.

Staycation At Makati Diamond Residences: Finding The Best Hotel Deals With Traveloka

Staycation at Makati Diamond Residences Booked Through the Traveloka App

When my parents visited the city for Christmas last year, I wanted to book a two-bedroom suite for our family at the Makati Diamond Residences, a full-serviced residence at the heart of the Makati Central Business District, appointed with 433 spacious and modern guestrooms.

Unfortunately, when I decided to book a suite, there was no availability on Christmas Eve anymore. We can stay after Christmas but the prices were outrageously high, even for a luxurious hotel, since it was holiday season!

I decided to pass up on this hotel then but fast forward to February of this year, not only was I able to book a room but I got a great deal too, saving more than Php3,500! No, I was not sponsored or given a media discount by the property but a fellow blogger introduced me to the Traveloka mobile app!

Speeding Through Saigon With Uber

Using Uber in Saigon

Ho Chi Minh (also known as Saigon) was the last stop of my 10-day Southeast Asian adventure with my college roommate last December 2016. As it was at the tail-end of our Amazing Race-esque trip, I was already feeling the fatigue of traveling. Coupled with my prejudice that the city is chaotic and crazy, I stepped foot into the city ready to be disappointed.

Boy, was I wrong! Yes, chaos is everywhere in Saigon but it perfectly complemented with the rich culture and the delectable cuisine! It’s as if there is a symphony of noises, sights, smells, and tastes that make Ho Chi Minh quite bustling and overwhelming.

Navigating through Ho Chi Minh is not for the faint of heart. The roads, even the narrowest alleys, are filled with motorbikes maniacally speeding from all directions! I was almost certain I would leave the city sprinting with a broken leg or arm.
